I have no advice but have lived this kind of day many times and have felt exactly what you described in the first few lines. We moms are strong but have a little more on our minds and plates that cause the longer bounce back time (my own cookie eating opinion.) Love that he grabbed the ball and wanted to play! Love to be that carefree....

Glad I ran across your blog. I did have a terrible pregnancy and birth experience. That coupled with a few other things has made me decide that I don't want any more. It makes me furious that people get offended by it. Happy to be in the one and done club.

Very insightful post! I think the biggest thing we've learned is to give up control. Just last night I had to remind Brent that Ked's dismantling of the pantry is all part of his learning process and would take me 3 minutes to put everything back. You guys are doing a great job!

Carlyn showers with me normally, then she plays in my room while I get ready, or eats a snack! Most of the time, I'm not ready until after her morning nap...and that's when I get ready!

OMG, YES!!!!

In fact, Sean really wanted to start trying last fall. Got in a huge argument about it that I left him at the pool on our vacation to CA. And now that I am in my window to start trying, I got shot down. Really want a spring or winter baby. You know. You went through the summer pregnant. Brutal.

So, we're either waiting a couple more years until he decides he's ready (what's wrong with this picture?), or Caleb may just be an only child. Really want him to have a sibling, but as we're also experiencing the terrible two's, is it selfish to never want to go through it again?

And yeah, pregnancy, not fun. Uncomfortable, hot, swollen, you name it. Been there. My wanting to get pregnant was purely for Caleb to have someone as he gets older, not for my love of being pregnant.

Hi Charlotte,
Check out this group. It's good for business and I've gotten some responses on tips for Caleb's terrible two stages. Just joined this week and am loving it.

Traci Bisson heads it up. Free to be a member and chat with others in your same shoes. Not too many from AZ though. Mostly Canada or East Coast mommies.

I think this is the post Char wanted me to check out!

Deb, right there with you, although I also met someone at the pool yesterday. Tweeted about new mommy connection. A mom of two kiddos (a boy and a girl at least 2 years older than Caleb) that has a lot in common with me. In fact, she gave me a good business lead for more event planning. We're hoping to connect again soon be it at the pool or at the park nearby.

I have to laugh at your post though. I'm very much like you hoping to meet more moms when I venture around the neighborhood.

Sorry I missed the play date, too, last Friday. Had my mini expo going and was super busy. Rain check?

Sesame Street! When I have to get ready for something and there's no one else around to entertain my little munchkin, I set her up with Elmo's World (and our favorite Mr. Noodle!) in our bedroom. Sometimes I set up a big gate - I have a great toddler corral - and put her cushy armchair in there and she's happy as can be. I think it's somewhat of a treat to watch TV in Mommy and Daddy's room so she'll usually sit there for at least 20 minutes. Now, back in the day, this would not have been enough time to primp properly but it's amazing how much faster you get once you're a mom, huh?!
